Frautz Contemporary, founded in 2024 in Lübeck, in the heart of Northern Germany, serves as a platform for contemporary art. We maintain that Hanseatic principles facilitate engagement with artistic diversity and invite individuals from across the globe to participate, venturing beyond familiar boundaries, traversing thresholds, and encountering novel artistic expressions. The present pulses, and within this rhythm of the art world, we push boundaries, shift them, and explore the intersection between analogue and digital. At this hotspot, we aim to establish ourselves through multidisciplinary curatorial approaches that reflect contemporary issues in engaging formats – independent of media convention, open to hybrid, experimental and discursive thinking. With a clear focus on national and international networks, the gallery fosters exchange between artistic production, reception, and the diverse publics of the art world.
